Awesome

This tune has awesome content! The only reason why I gave a 9/10 is because it could use some remastering. ;) Otherwise it would have been a 10/10. GREAT JOB ON THIS!

Maverlyn responds:

jup.. but i only made it for a friend so i didn't need do anything with it really :P

Great story and music backing!

I gave it a 9 not because it is not perfect, but because it still has a lot of great potential ahead. Very nice ground work! Keep it up! You're going in the right direction! I wouldn't mind collaborating with you on this piece. ;) Let me know what you think and let's make it into an EPIC-sized production!

Thanks a lot for the compliments man :D.
I'd say I'm even looking forward to collaborating with someone for some epicness ;).
I tried to find an animator for this story but I couldn't find one^^ (8:30 is a bit long for a flash movie though).

Well if you've got any ideas concerning this piece of music let me know :D!
If you need any input just PM me.

Thanks for your review!

Good production

Very good production quality. No clipping distortions like most other submissions. :) Awesome work!

SHADOWFOX2 responds:

Clippin' distortions?
In any case, it seems like not havin' 'em is a good thing
I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the visit [:

Good content, but...

It could really use some better production techniques. Like making the strings more epic and giving all the instruments a good amount of dynamics. They all sound like all the same velocities. :( But at least it's got good content! So I'll give you a 9/10 giving you some room to make improvement on it. ;)

Indigorain responds:

Thank you :D
maybe I will, i still need to get the hang of the expert stuff like equalizing and mixing, but this sure is a useful comment :D
But this song was for my doing awesome at the time, so it's not that complex. and i'm done with a new song but I first want to figure out some stuff to make it sound even better ;D

pretty cool.

need to re-adjust the reverb levels as well as the overall signal. it is clipping at loud parts. :( other than that, it's pretty cool.

PenguinSam responds:

Yeah, it does clip at the loud hit. However, the reverb is exactly where I want it to be. The north pole is vast and open, so any less reverb would not represent it's vastness! I may be able to fix the clips, I hope.

<PS>

Good but...

This is good but I feel like the distortion guitar is drowning everything else out. :( I can barely hear what else is going on behind it. Maybe try to balance out the mix? Oh, and make the drums have more presence! Anyway, good guitar playing! -XayberOptix

michellpougnou responds:

Thanks for feedback.
This song is 3 or 4 years ago so back in the day I barely knew how to mix guitar and stuff.
I recorded the drums thingy with guitar pro 5 real sound engine and it was utterly crap so I decided to cover this shitty sound effect by putting it volumes down.
Also, I'm keen of "wall of sound" guitar effect, putting lots of sounds or guitar riff together in order to get some mayhem at the same time, like I said I barely knew how to deal with my amp settings so this is maybe why my distortion sounds so crunchy.

Great composition!

This sounds very dreamy. I like how you used the bass sound to maintain the energy flowing. The harp adds a "mysterious" mood in there. Nice! Every instrument sounds very nice too!! The song sounds like it could be made into an unending loop (if needed by a game developer). Great job!! Keep it up! -XayberOptix

vai90 responds:

Awesome, thanks! :D

This is good!

This is good! The only thing that is keeping it from getting a 10 is the excessive reverb. Try toning it down a little? Good job on this! I enjoyed it! -XayberOptix

vai90 responds:

Aww, damn.^^
Excessive? I should have a look into that, I guess. :O

Thx!

Very nice vocal technique!

I really like how you phrased your vocals. Surprisingly, you made the lyrics, despite their simplicity, come to life!! What I'm trying to say is that you have great melodic technique in the way you express your notes in and between every syllable of each and every word. Wow! Just beautiful! 5/10!

Jessismith responds:

Hey thanks Xay. I was in music theater for a while....not to mention drama and chorus in high school. I sort of just learned how to express emotion while singing. I'm glad it's effective in delivering the point of a song without me really needing a lot of lyrics to do so. :) Thanks again buddy.

This puts me inside an RPG game!!

This tune is so captivating that it puts me inside an RPG game!! I can imagine the scenery... I am roaming the country side where meadows of tall green grass and flowers sway back and forth. I am heading towards a small village in the far distance. The sky is just minutes from sunset. As I approach, I can see a peaceful village where children are dancing, running, jumping and playing outside with the butterflies. I see farmers working on their garden and the blacksmith forging a sword with ember flying all around. As I enter the village, I am greeted by a lovely maiden dressed in a beautifully designed blue and white dress. She welcomes me to the village and shows me around. This is where I would be granted a quest--probably from the inn keeper or an old man sitting out in the cemetary by the grave of his wife. :) Anyway, I won't spoil you too much. Excellent vocals! Love them! Keep it up!! You got my 5/10!

Jessismith responds:

Hmm. That's some nice imagery...I'm starting to picture it too. :) Thank you! And wow! Woohoo! Another 5/10! :D

Thank you for listening to my music! I'm always glad to share them with you!
